From ‘Zzzz’ to ‘Aahh’ : A dreamy production for Sleeplife
At Zumo, we joined forces with the talented marketing agency Bullet Point, based in Lichtervelde, to bring Sleeplife's captivating end-of-year campaign to life. Together, we embarked on the exciting journey of producing and post-producing commercial videos that would captivate audiences. Our collaboration thrived on our expertise in creative storytelling, a passion that fuels us and drives us to constantly refine our craft, drawing upon our extensive experience in the dynamic world of film industry.
Bullet Point brought us an idea and concept for Sleeplife's campaign, perfectly in tune with their in-depth market analysis and understanding of their target audience. With their foundation as our starting point, we delved deeper and unleashed our creativity to develop practical and engaging concepts, always keeping a humorous approach in mind.
Our vision took shape through a series of four commercials, each one of them having a unique plot, but all being a testament to the unparalleled comfort and quality of Sleeplife's products, emphasizing the significance of a restful night's sleep. These commercials became the cornerstone, paving the way for an array of derivatives that would be launched throughout the following year.
Additionally, our approach is focused on problem-solving, as we aim to address any issues that arise on set, regardless of their magnitude.
We managed to capture every 'at home' scene in a single day, all within the confines of a kind host family’s home. For every scene, the set had to be dressed up, making it visually stunning, and the actors had to be prepped, outfit- and make-up-wise. Our ambitious schedule kicked off bright and early in the morning, and we didn't wrap up until the late hours of the evening. However, maintaining a consistent lighting scheme was absolutely vital to ensure the shots flowed seamlessly. Regardless of the actual time of day, we had to ensure a continuous daytime ambiance, necessitating the use of a remarkable lighting setup shining on the inside of the house from the garden, simulating the sun's radiance.
Now, there's this one scene that took place upstairs in the house, and let me tell you, it presented us with a challenge. We had to raise our intricate lighting set-up, so we hired an aerial platform, giving us the perfect vantage point to position the lights and maintain that cohesiveness throughout the entire shoot.
Even seemingly minor problems can be resolved through post-production techniques. For instance, we encountered a challenge during this production where we needed to change the color of a wall. Since this was not feasible in real life, we employed VFX techniques to achieve the desired outcome.
Our collaboration with Bullet Point on Sleeplife's end-of-year campaign was a resounding success! The campaign reached far and wide, captivating audiences on popular streaming platforms such as VRTmax and GoPlay, and resonating across numerous radio stations. The campaign was well-received by the target audience.
This partnership served as a shining example of the power of teamwork and co-creation in crafting a highly successful marketing campaign. Together, we harmoniously blended our strengths, ideas, and expertise, resulting in a campaign that truly connected with the audience and left a lasting impression.
