Zumo assisting with another scoring video production for KAA Gent: Tarik Tissoudali’s comeback!

As a production company with experience in delivering high-quality video productions, we have had the pleasure of successfully collaborating on numerous fun projects with KAA Gent. They do handle most of their productions in-house, but we gladly assist with the more unique ones. This production in particular, one of their biggest ones yet, involved creating a video to announce the comeback of Tarik Tissoudali, who had been absent from the field for several months due to a torn ACL.

Together with KAA Gent's media team, we came up with an idea for the announcement. The concept was to create a video with an urban feel, associated with street soccer. We filmed on various, meticulously chosen locations in the city of Ghent, that were scouted with the predetermined atmosphere in mind. These areas were the cradle of a slew of stunning shots – it’s a shame we had to kill some of our darlings and cut the (action) shots crisper for the sake of the quick pace of the video. After the edit was final, we crafted derivative teasers that ignited a significant surge of curiosity among the fans. Once the final product was launched, it was a huge success. The video was shared widely on social media and picked up by various news outlets.

To add to the mystery and intrigue of the grand finale, we decided to film that specific part at night. This required large, powerful lights, attached to an aerial work platform above the pitch. The terrain was additionally surrounded by standing spots, to mimic the atmosphere of a real football field.

Prior to the comeback video, Tarik’s contract extension video was released. Hot off the press news meant we had to act fast. From concept, production and post-production, to stunning end result in only one day!

The campaigns were a massive success, garnering significant media attention. It was picked up by numerous sports channels and newspapers, such as Sporza and Nieuwsblad, further amplifying the reach of the videos. We are happy to have put our team's creative skills and technical expertise to the test, and are proud to now further add to our track record of delivering successful productions!
